"Utinni!" - Jawa Scrap Gang

Its long been a joke that Jawas rip-off unattended vehicles wherever they can find them, but I don't often see them doing it. I figure they have many lookouts and get the deed done when no one else is looking.

The drawing was planned using a mix of Blender using models for the vaporator and the speeder downloaded from 3D Warehouse and Thingiverse, and drawings from my sketchbook, then using Photoshop for the final painting. The landspeeder substructure was based on Hans Jenssen's cutaway illustration on his website (www.hansjenssen.co.uk/about). Hans has done a lot of cutaway illustrations from the Star Wars universe for the Incredible Cross Sections books, and the detail does not disappoint. Its logical and well thought out, but I had to figure out what Jawas might want and be able to get away with. What was worthwhile for them as scrap peddlars, or collectors. But really, who knows what drives a jawa's delight for scrap? I think the result is somewhere between "That has to be valuable, look how big it is!", to "Oooh, shiny!" which is why one of them is cutting the VIN plaque off a removed panel... what's a Jawa going to do with a VIN plaque?
