"Styreen Fome"

This was a tribute to an old painting that one of my art heroes, Jim Burns, created long ago for an art book called "Planet Story" written by sci-fi (Grand)Master Harry Harrison in the 70s. The whole thing is a really slap-stick satire of science-fiction, replete with over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek tropes that are shameless presented as larger-than-life details.

My version of Styreen is loosely based on Jim Burn's rendition, which was driven by Harry's description of Styrene's appearance at inspection, "the ivory columns of her immaculate legs were encased in her spray-on 'lustrelight' suit" and "...her pink protuberances swelled out like twin dirigibles emerging from the same hangar...", but they are not too dissimilar. The pistol/knife, her basic uniform with zipper are the same, but I chose to give her a heavier mane of hair (Jim's was kept in a ponytail throughout the story, uncoiled at the end) and redheaded rather than raven haired. I didn't want to ape all of Jim's wonderful design, only grab enough to point out the tribute.
